Here's a new pic of my kitties...
The tabby on the left is Kabu and the black and white kitty is Kazu. They like to hang out on the windowsill.

RainyBearWhat boootiful babies, love those fuzzy little ears. The softest fur on a kitty is just behind their ears or the inside of the front paw. I'd like to give those to K's a squeeze.

Kazu is soft all over! His fur is like a bunny's. I call him my little bunny, and Kabu my little squirrel because he's the nutty one. Those two are actually brothers, though you couldn't tell by looking at them. They're not even a year old yet.
They're such little sweeties... and Kazu purrs a lot. He even kept purring during his last vet visit while the vet took his temperature! And you know how cats' temperatures are taken, LOL...
Our older cat, Sunshine, is camera shy or I'd post her photo, too.

I would love to be able to have more kitties.
Unfortunately, I have a sinus condition that is triggered by cat dander and our cats would have to be totally indoor pussycats as we have coyotes in the woods that surround our house. There have been far too many posters on telephone poles about "lost" kitties....people are not taking it seriously (about the coyotes). Yes cats can climb trees, but domestic cats are no match for wild carnivores.
At one time I had 4 cats, absolutely precious
each in his/her own way. However, they were indoor outdoor puddies. We would feed them
in the morning (1/2) rations, and they would come in when we got home in the evening for their dinner. No nights out for our babies.
Three of them lived to be 19-1/2 to 20 years old..one dear one had cancer and only lived to be 7 years old. Each of the oldest became
total indoor kitties due to hearing loss and
my concern for their safety.

What beautiful cats you guys have!!
McJane: Isn't it fun finding their hiding places? In my old apartment Jasper used to hide under the dresser in my bedroom, and one time he had run under the dishwasher. I had to take the bottom part of the dishwasher out to get him out!
As I sit here working, here are all 3 of my little ones all curled up on a blanket right here on the top of my desk. The blanket is actually Alexis's (the dog in the middle) but the 2 cats apparently love that blanket too!
Jasper is the white cat, Alexis is the dog in the middle, and the black cat is Missy. The dog is 1/2 the size of the cats!!

ExecutiveGirl What I wouldn't give to have my little dog sleep with my cats. She growls at them any chance she gets to show them who's boss. Some of my cats are friendly with each other & some are loners.
They are all so different.
That's a very cozy picture, so contented.
Your little dog is so cute & with such a beautiful shine to his coat.

mcjane: Don't let that pic fool you! The only way the cats were able to get away with sleeping so close to her - is because they sneaked up WHILE she was sleeping!! LOL
She struts her stuff around here and doesn't think twice about showing them who's boss!
If you want to see more pics of her or see any of the other beautiful dogs everyone else posted or want to post pics of your dog here is another thread I started on "dog lovers":

She has restored my faith in little dogs. They rule.....
I don't know if my cats would chance that. Stacy wouldn't hurt them, but they don't know that she's all bark, no bite.
On my way to check out the Dog Lovers thread.

Mouseslayer: Your K.D. looks like my youngun Trouble. And I don't have to seek his hiding place, it's usually on my mousepad whenever I try to play Slingo!
We lose a lot of cats due to being on a major highway and they just gotta explore the other side til their 9 lives run out. But I guess everybody knows we're softies because we can always be sure of them dumping their unwanted ones here. I expect we'll get a couple of preggies any day now.

deco: I have to ask.... if you lose a lot of cats because you live on a major highway, why do you let them outside? Especially if you KNOW chances are they will get hit by a car???
I love my animals to death and do not let my cats outside for any reason (I also live right off a very busy road) and my cats have no problem staying inside. Vets also usually suggest to keep cats indoors.

I couldn't agree more. Our cat is totally indoor, we've trained him to the leash, for taking strolls outside. I can't tell you how many cats have been lost to coyotes and cars in my area. Every week there is posters up 'lost cat'..please, keep your cats inside!

Equestrian: I'm glad to hear you keep your cats inside too! I think that is so important. I also feel that anyone who truly cares about their pets will do whatever they have to to ensure their safety.
I also have Coyotes in my area - as a matter of fact, last summer I woke up to a Coyote who attacked my screen in my bedroom window - because my cats were sitting in the windowsill. Luckily they jumped down in time, and the coyote cut a huge gash in my screen. This happened TWICE. So now in the summer I can only have my bedroom window open a few inches because I'm afraid the coyote will jump right through the screen!
Edited to ask: How did you train your cats to stay on a leash?? I tried this several times - and they just freeze right up and won't move. I've even tried using a little harness on them and they just won't move!

ExecutivGirl:
I trained him to the leash from the time he was a kitten. Just one of those little nylon harnesses, very light, and I would walk in front of him, and he just followed! The place that he really learned was up at our cabin, he loved running along the shore of the lake, and scampering up the trails. The trick really was though, training him so young. He was only seven weeks old when we got him from the spca and he had the leash on him that week. Now, he actually drags the leash (insisting on making a lot of noise since it is one of those retractable type) to me when he wants to go outside!

When our kids were able to be indoor outdoor puddy cats...before the development
of the wooded areas brought the wildlife
right to our back door. Sometimes waiting for the folks to get home got a
little chilly sitting on the steps, Brownie on the right actually taught Adora
on the left how to stay warm.
Potted Puddy Tats~Adora & Brownie

Our cats have always been into the Antique
and Collectibles and were eager to help us.
Here you see Tigger helping his dad sort
through some antique brackets...matching size
and pattern.

and sometimes we just sit and look gorgeous.
These are pictures taken of polaroids, I
haven't figured out how to use my scanner
yet.

getting ready to do an antique show I had

to pack when I turned around there
was my little midgy trying one
out. She was so little (not even as big as
a minute) I used to call her 30 seconds!!

OMG Zilvy, I am just cracking up at the potted kitties! Too cute!!! I know what you mean about touching up their eyes, I have one of KD that makes her look like she has evil eyes, LOL.
Deco, I know what you mean about the mousepad, Charlie likes to sleep on mine. I too implore you to start keeping the kitties inside. We used to have indoor/outdoor cats but after so many disappeared I put a stop to that (and I was old enough to). It can be hard at first to hear them cry at the door, but they will learn to like it inside, trust me! I've had a few venture out over the years, but never for long. It's usually been the ones born and raised indoors, they're curious. The older ones, who've known the outdoor life, are quite content to stay in where it's warm and safe.
EG, love the piture of the three! That should be your Christmas card next year

Tigger is gorgeous! I just love Maine Coons. Those two pictures you have of him in your first post reminded me so much of my cat 'Kootie'. We lost him 1½ years ago to kidney failure - I still miss him terribly - he was my 'baby'
I thought I'd share some other pictures of Flick. He loves going up to our cabin and can you guess why?? Poor guy is soooo bored when we come home - there's nothing fun to look at outside except for the odd bird that lands on the lawn...

beautiful Cat....I loved the earlier one of
him having a McD****ds break in the bag. You
can tell in this second series of pictures he
only wants to "play" with the li'le chippy!!
Chocolate Chipmunk Cookies anyone??
Edited to mention, I really feel for your loss
this kidney problem in cats is so sad.
We had little Adora on subcutaneous fluids
for 5 years after she was diagnosed. She did
very well, but at 19-1/2 it couldn't be
controlled and we lost her in Jan. of this
year. The empty feeling lasts a long time.

Mouse I love all your kitties. They are such neat fuzzies....but Prince steals my heart away, he remind me of my Duffy who was with us for 20 years and made every day special. So glad you finally were able to share them. That wide eyed look is very adorable on Charlie...and little Sid Vicious...I don't think so just chatty, keep em coming.
Hello Margot, your serene highness, you look particularly cuddly today. Nice to see you, sweetie.
