Lady -- After you get it all set up you can change the categories with your selling manager that get with your store description by going to the active section clicking the box on the items you want to change and click edit. you will come up with a page that will allow you to change the store category either one at a time or in bulk. Do 25 at a time that is the number eBay suggests to use.
Pat -- Glad you got your listing thing figured out.
pmelcher -- Early last year after I started to do eBay more as a business than trying to fool around, I went to Menard's when they hada sale on the Plastic shelving and bought a bunch to organize everything. They usually put them on sale around this time of year.
Dorrie -- If you have to pay per listing with Vendio do not use them for the store. List on eBay and use the Turbo Lister. You can still use the images on Vendio or if they are on your computer you can list them that way through eBay picture services. They do not have to host the picture but if you are putting up more than one they will charge you.
Neglus -- Late in 2004 when I decided to start using eBay more as a business than something to just get rid of stuff I set up my plan that the store will be my mine source of selling and use the auctions to get rid of surplus merchandise. I would also run fixed price stuff occasionally to attract people to my store. Doing this I soon became a power seller and now that the store items are showing up in searches I realize that my plan was correct. I am now a silver ps and pushing towards gold. I am also using what ever free advertising is out there especially since you save on the FVF on any click throughs.
I have always looked at eBay as one giant flee market and try to always get the most punch for my dollar. I also am getting up there, will be double nickel next month, so I look at this as something to do when I retire.

neglus
Is the header the little graphics added at the top? I was thinking it was the detail description of what my store is all about. That's what I can't seem to find.
Here's another dumb question - when it comes to shipping - if it's a very large item that won't go USPS or UPS - which is the only calculated shipping I have - do they just check out as with auctions?
Does Vendio show my sold items in my ebay store?

Lady - sorry have been away from home so didn't answer earlier. If you look at my store (link is in my sig line below) and then look at one of my listing you will see it just below the ebay part of the listing and on top of the template - the store header is green (color scheme I chose) with logo at left (actually just a split view of two postcards - one with an old car and one of the panama pacific exposition) and on the right side a link to visit my store and other selected category links. T
The detailed description should now be on your store landing page, your "me" page and also when you look at the category the item is listed in you will see a link on the left that says "see all stores"...if you page down you should find your store and the description you have set up.
Vendio will pick up store sales for post sale in the usual way as long as you listed through Vendio. Store sales will show in Post-Sale with a little stores icon.
I think that check-out follows the way you set it up in your listing (if you check the Vendio checkout button or not). I personally don't use vendop checkout so I don't know about that part.

billshobbyemporium - do you do that in Vendio or ebay?
neglus - you really have it set up well. I'm going to get back to my regular auction for the rest of the week and work on my store next week. I can see I have a lot of work to do and I have bookmarked your store to use as a guide. Hope that's OK. Promise I won't sell any postcards

Lady -- You do the editing on eBay in the My eBay Selling manager, Active listings. That is if selling manager is working (It crashed last night). You will come to the listings and you click on the box next to the listing(s) and then click edit. Make sure you have all the store catagories set up in Vendio first before you start making any changes.

When I try to do that - I get the following:
"This feature cannot be used with this item because it is not a Store Inventory Format item."
I'm not going to worry about that yet. I'll get back to it next week
Thanks All

If Vendio is not used to list items in Ebay Store, what method is recommended to list store items? Are other image hosting sites reliable (to keep photos in listings). Also, is it recommended to get a domain name and use that in Ebay Store name to make it more simple? Thanks for any help.

Vendio IS used to list items to ebay stores. You just have to choose "ebay store" as the listing type (right under the title). You will enter a store price, a store duration (GTC or 30 days), write up the description as usual and put it a store category or two. The categories need to be set up on ebay first and then updated in Vendio under My Account->ebay site speifics. Post sale will be the same as auction and fixed price listings through Vendio.
