Yep, run to the 'puter, boot it up, stop by the powder room, back to the 'puter till spouse makes my coffee. Then turn on TV in office (now that he is up), and get to work or check here. I used to leave the computer on 24/7 but the lights go out here now and then and it messes with it's little brain!

That has been my routine for the past 10 years, ever since I got my own computer that was hooked up to the internet. Computer first, everything else later

if hubby and i go on a trip, the motel/hotel has to have available internet access computers or we move on the next one....hubby just shakes his head!

I have had motel managers allow me to use their office computer after I told them why I couldn't stay there.

First thing every day. Sometimes I will get up about 5am to check for emails. The east coast is up 4 hours before I am so I want to answer any morning emails they may have sent. Then I go back to bed. Up again at 9am and straight back to the computer.

When we are on the road we have our handy laptop. My cable internet account has a free 800 number dial up account included with it. Every night when we check into the hotel we plug the computer in before we do anything else.

That saying goes way back to my younger days, mid 80's. We used it constantly.. "I'm Jonesing for a smoke"
"I'm Jonesing out dude" "I'm Jonesing for some weed"
LOL!!
You never heard that huh? I still use it on ocassion. Try it out sometimes, it fits well when needed!

MicMIc - I remember that term well from that same time period. Maybe it was a regional thing? I was in the midwest at the time - how about you?

Since it came from the drug culture - originally it was people "jonesing for a fix" - and then spread to everyday speak... maybe it just more of a clue to our youth

I get up and head straight for the computer check my auctions then get a Mountain Dew then check emails. My computer has been on for 3 years. My first 2 computers I turned off and on and each lasted a little over a year. This one has been on for 3 years so far.

From the urban dictionary site:
jonesing
"JONE-sing"
to have a strong need, desire, or craving for something.
see also: jones
Sheeeit beeeitch after smokin' dat weed I'm jonesing for some grub!

and all this time, I thought I knew everything...sheesh. I've lived in the great states of Oregon and Washington since the early 70's, and never heard this saying once. Guess I've been living under a rock? I love it!

Coffee first!!! Coffee perks-fall over dogs on the way to home office-check ebay then vendio-fall over dogs on way back to kitchen for coffee-get LARGE mug of coffee-give dogs their treats (their stomachs think their throats have been cut)-back to comp with caffeine and nicotine (the breakfast of champions) until Husband goes to work. Then I can get down to my ebay and work from home job. Husband is gone for the day-dogs are snoring - Is this a great country or what??!!!

Since all my husband and I do is on line sales - I get up, get coffee, and sit down at the computer - we probably spend 15+ hours a day on line a day......and have since 1996.....we love it........

We do eBay, have 4 web sites, and I also use a niche auction site.

It is a good life to us.........
