I don't mention anything in my auctions either. I figure everything is stored in a room that is kept closed, and I don't sell clothes or anything that permiable anyway. If someone emails and asks I will tell them, though. Just to be on the safe side. Never had anyone say anything to me up to this point *knocking on wood*

This is OT, but I have a cat story that I will never forget. 2 of my cats are long-haired. The all black one is named Shadow. It was my second date with my now husband, and he came over to my house to cook me dinner . This was pre-ebay, so we were able to eat at the dining room table which is now filled with packing materials and inventory. Anyway, he made a nice dinner and had tapers lit on the table and music playing in the background...lights down low - you get the picture. A romantic song came on so he asked me to dance. We were slow dancing and all of a sudden I see this "poof" of red moving from the table towards my bedroom which is right off the dining room. I screamed and ran into the bedroom. Hubby had no clue what happened at the time (poor guy probably thought he stepped on my foot or something).

Turns out while we were dancing Shadow wanted some dinner. His tail caught on fire from the candle and his instinct was to run under my bed. I thought it was still on fire and he was going to set my bed and subsequently the whole house on fire, but as it turns out the fire put itself out when he went under the bed. That was a date I will never forget!

We have one cat indoors, two rabbits (one fuzzy lop w/2.5" hair & 6" ears), one mom (me) who sheds unbelievable amounts of hair and two children who could find things that stick to them in an air-tight vault. I work and work to get all the hair out of the vicinity during ebay packaging, yet I will find one every single time. I found hair on my last batch of auctions I mailed and was at a total loss. I had vacuumed, dusted, cleaned, swiffered, wet-jetted, wore a Tyvek suit and borrowed Michael Jackson's hyperbaric chamber to pack in. I'm getting the items out of the car at the P.O. and HORROR!!!! there's h-a-i-r in my tape. Now, I know I did not tape our cat to the box and our rabbits were outside, where they are safe from the vacuum cleaner. I'm trying hard not to cry from the frustration - I mean, short of packing your items in the mummy preservation room at the Smithsonian - what more can you do??? "Ohhhhh", my daughter says - "we were at the neighbor's house and their dog needed to go outside." Well, since the neighbor's front step is 4X bigger than the Yorkie, my DD has to carry the little thing out to the grass. (Of course, the grass is bigger than the Yorkie as well, but that's another problem altogether...) Then she carried auction boxes to the car for me. Mystery solved....

Apparently, even when you figure out how to bypass your feline's diabolical plans to hair up the place - it's still gonna come from somewhere....

We replaced our carpet upstairs with pergo and tile and I "swiffer" every day and I'm amazed at the amount of hair I find on my swiffer. Makes me so glad we got rid of the ugly mauve colored carpet! If I see dog/cat hair on the packing tape, I just pull off the bit with hair, toss it and begin packing with clean tape.
