Pets....we love em. I wouldnt trade my two lab mix/muts for anything on earth. I WOULD trade the dog hair problem though. It's everywhere folks, right down to the edges of my rolls of priority tape. Oh, I vacuum several times a day, makes no difference. Even bought a $300 vacuum, no dice. I spend wasted minutes making sure there is no hair stuck in the tape I use on my packages or inside the empty box I pull from my box pile when it's called for. Anyone else fighting this loosing battle?

If your customers get tired of receiving the same old Lab hair stuck to the tape, just let me know. I've got plenty of Extra Rottweiler hair I can send you. Dog hair will jump to packing tape. You can take a piece of cheap (.25 cent a roll flea market type) tape and wrap it around your hand, sticky side out, and use it as a sort of dust cloth to clean your packing area before you start. It's also a great way to corral all those pieces of styrofoam flakes that are left behind when you break a piece off for packing.

I've got two varieties of cat hair you can choose from as well. I use more tape getting hair off the mock velvet jewelry displays before I photograph new stuff than I do packaging the items when they sell.

Inevitably, I'm in line at the PO and spot dog hair clinging to the tape. Just pull off the big stuff and let it go. A friend did get a nasty neutral because a buyer found a trace of cat hair in the box. I know that it must have been microscopic because I gave her the box and I don't have cats.

yes i know the cat hair problem too....
I use that priority tape to de-hair many things. It works super on the couch. I too have to do an inspection for hair on everything I send- gets to be a pain sometimes. we have 4 cats- and love them like our kids.

My biggest cat is 22 pounds how about you?

jensmome, that is funny! I have also spotted "hair in tape" in the post office line. I guess there isn't much else to look at once youv'e been in your local hub about 500 times a year!

nharmon,
my lab/rotty mix RINGO is 110lbs of love. He can sense the slightest hint of trouble in my voice or actions, he's basicly human but can't talk. We rescued him from the poorest area of our town when he was about 6 weeks old and homeless. He was living on porches and following people up and down the sidewalk until someone my wife works with pulled over and grabbed him. He was happy to get out of there. He has had a great country home SPOILED ROTTEN ever since, 5 years ago.

The culprit of my hair problems is a scrawny little maybe 10 pound hunter in the form of a Russian Blue mix. He doesn't meow, he yips, he stalks the litter maid, he sleeps and sheds on any display item I mistakenly leave out and he eats my Avery labels and right now is once again boycotting the floor so moves from box to table to chair etc. His partner is 20 pound all black attention seeker who has been nicknamed Buddah Belly. He sits on my desk blocking the monitor when he feels he is being ignored and the seeks out plasic bags to scrunch up, sit on, and then lick them until I scream (amazing how annoying such a small sound can be).

I love them both and cannot imagine not having their kooky little hijynx to entertain me.

What kind of vacuum did you buy? Have an indoor persian cat that sheds continually all year long. Bought a Sharp vacuum twin energy 12 amps and it picks all the hair up and I don't even have to picks extra hairs out of the brush. Also have 4 cloth lint brushes around and one tape type lint brush to remove hair from my clothing before I get in my car and in the house between daily vacuuming.

LOL! I can say with absolute truth "Smoke free environment.".. But if you are allergic to cats you might not want to buy from me! I worry about it sometimes.
I have a dear friend who is allergic- and I make costume for her- I try to keep it away from the cats- yeah, right.

I smoke and have cats so you can image how I look at my feedbacks (both eyes half closed) lol but I put both in my auctions....I haven't had a problem with cat hair stuck to the tape it's my hair !! I swear I put a piece of me in every package ...my hair runs almost to my butt and is real thick (the priority tape loves me )

I smoke, have a dog and a cat. If I can find some Pampers to wrap with and some pizza boxes with ants to ship in, it'll be time for Freddy and Jason to move over and make room for the "Nightmare on Ebay". Oh yeah, I pad my shipping charges on all newbies also.

Seven cats & 2 dogs, that's why I sell rubber stamps. I'm afraid to try to sell clothing.

micmic How wonderful, I love to hear stories like that.

All my pets except one dog were strays.

If you don't like hair, do not get a Keeshond, Hell my lab Dusty was nothing compared to Nick my Keeshond.

We've got a German Shepherd / Husky mix and three cats. I thought hardwood floors would be great with the animals, boy was I wrong! At least with carpet, the hair doesn't move as much! I can sweep a room, walk back across it and hair tumbleweeds appear like magic.

All of our pets were rescues (mostly former strays) including our recent addition, Grace, who was aptly named since she has none!

For the most part, they all stay away from the tape guns and me when I'm armed with it since they've all had a run in with it at one time or another. (nothing cruel, it just jumped out in front of them and attacked)

I have another king of hair problem - my hair gets stuck to tape, especially the very sticky Priority Mail tape! It's embarassing standing in line at the PO and noticing long blond hair stuck to the tape!

Actually Classicrock, I do vacuum my dog. He loves it! He's got bad hips so we have a percussion massager we use on him. He thinks the vacuum is the same thing.

I've got a Hoover witht he little motorized hand held gizmo. Best thing in the world.

And Cheryl, I hear you about our own hair! I've ended up having a long piece of red hair stuck under the tape, with just enough hanging out to be annoying

If I could adopt every stray in town I would. I have more compassion for animals that I do for people it seams! Ringo was a little more that 5 weeks, he was about 12-15lbs and 8-9 weeks when we found him...

Apparently my laser label eating monster has taken issue with me revealing his little addiction online. I woke up this morning to find that in lieu of labels, Canadian Money orders will suffice. He's eaten eonough of it I may not be able cash it. (Dollar amount still shows but most of the cents is gone).

Fish... my next pets are going to be fish...

3 cats - 2 smokers. Keep the ebay stuff in a seperate room or in the basement, but we won't sell clothes either for those reasons.

Swiffer mops (or the pledge version) and the new swiffer duster works incredible on hardwood floors and computer stuff!

This thread is disgusting. I will never aby another thing on ebay unless the listing says, "Comes from a smoke, smokeless, cat, dog, HIV, herpes, GMO, fragrance, peanut, fat, sugar free home."

I too, have long hair and find it on the tape on the packages.

I Dont get too much cat hair on stuff, because I try to keep him out of ebay area but if its on my clothes and falls or blows onto the tape, yeah, picking it off!

yorkie hair (even though they don't shed supposedly) there's always one stuck under the tape on the shipping label!

synchronicity rules. I bought a woman's suit on Ebay, it arrived today and it was covered in hair. (ok, maybe not covered but it is a LOT) I *think* it was from hanging next to a fur coat in the closet (and hopefully not a cat!!)

now I'm just wondering what kind of feedback to leave?

*great suit with free hair*

It is as advertised, looks unworn and was very expensive (when she bought it, not me thank goodness). she's not a powerseller but an occasional seller.

Have 3 adult cats and two 3 month old kittens. One adult cat has long hair so she sheds like crazy. Cat hair everywhere and I have long hair that sheds like crazy. Hair stuck on tape is common, whether it's mine or the cat's. Wouldn't trade my babies for anything though.

Japerton, I used to have a Malamute and Wolf cross and also German Shepherds and they have lots of hair or fur in their undercoats.

Right now I have two cats. They aren't allowed in my packing room but the little lynxpoint likes to sneak in there now and again to snoop around or spill the peanuts.

I don't mention cats in my auctions and have never had a problem but so far I haven't sold clothing.

Jack, I think you are beyond help!
