Uh, no. You are trying to bully people into seeing it "your" way - in your opinion, the "right" way. God is God is God - doesn't really matter how or where you find Him. He is the foundation of any religion, be it Jewish or Muslim or Baptist. My God lives within my heart and soul. He knocked, I opened the door. And when I choose to witness, it is never done without invitation. To take it to the extreme, you could compare it to sex, I suppose. Invited, it is one thing. Uninvited, it is something completely different. One is fulfilling. One is intrusive (at the very least). Which is which?
However - to be fair, since I am of the type that cannot slam a door in the face of a Jehovah's Witness at my door because they are doing what they think is right for them and their God, if this type of witnessing is what your God demands of you, have at it. But don't be surprised when people hide in a back room or slam the door in your face.
Also, btw, the words "Bible" and "Gospel" should be capitalized when one is witnessing in writing.
And now, I'm outta this thread. I read it early on and walked away, because I was afraid I would lose my temper. So I let it sit in my mind and talked to my God about how to handle it before I posted. Now I'm just getting angry again, because it amazes me that even today there is so much hatred and fury and superiority coming from those folks who think God chose them and their own denomination specifically to save the rest of us. Don't bother with me. I am saved. I'll be living for eternity in Heaven. But if you don't see me, it'll because God and Saint Peter will surely segregate the overly righteous so they can have a happy eternity believing only they had it right all along.
Off topic: waving to KatyD. It's been toooooo long and I'll try to drop you a line soon!

I wonder why people who are comfortable with their particular brand of spiritulaity feel the need to always add "I'm saved" i.e. I'm going to wear a harp and halo for all eternity while you are going to burn in an eternal lake of fire, because God loves you (?!).

Ken, if I'm not told in advance about the Hellfire I face how would it be fair for me to burn for all eternity?

You'll be alright, James, when you can master the art of expounding both that your Lord loves all, and that those who don't believe will cook.
Sorta' like saying that He loves sushi and Kentucky Fried equally.

Ah, Ken...but my King James version Bible does not tell me all that stuff. Am I to witness what I think or should I just try to live it and allow my deeds to speak for me.
The constitution very clearly calls for a separation of church and state, as does the rest of the stuff out founding fathers set in motion. So, for those that have forgotton that concept about this great country...I say you got some studying to do before you can match any naturalized American in political knowledge (or in Spelling).
**Disclaimer: If I appear arguementive, then I probably am just being a #*!@ today. It comes & goes. C.

KRS, of all the stupid, pig-headed comments I've seen you make over the past year, comparing an unborn fetus to dandruff is far and away the worst. True to form, your arguments quickly degenerate into ridicule of a person's personal and religious beliefs. If you think there are too many people on this planet, why don't you leave. By what right do you decide there's not enough room for another baby?
This issue has nothing to do with world population. It's about promiscuous behavior and the refusal or men and women to take responsibliity for their actions. History will look back on this and judge it as infanticide.
Not everyone agrees with abortion on demand.
"God, in His infinite wisdom, gave us free will."
That is a big cop-out. God didn't give man license to murder. Stop dragging God's name into it. You don't know God at all, and you don't know God's designs.
"You are trying to bully people into seeing it 'your' way"
Looks to me like a bunch of regulars bullying a newcomer over issues that are clearly deep personal choices.
It's no wonder I never come to this forum. It makes me want to puke.

twinsoft,
You know that personal insults are a violation of the CGs. Consider this a not-so-gentle nudge. You have every right to your opinion, and every right to express it. So does everyone else.
Everyone, if you choose to continue this discussion, please do not resort to personal comments. If this thread becomes combative I will lock it.
Not providing a woman with decent medical care is wrong. Abortions did not suddenly begin with the Roe vs. Wade decision. This decision merely said that only the woman and her healthcare provider needed to know what was going on. No one knows the stats on abortions prior to this decision. There is no record. As far as I know the one way to decrease abortions is to decrease the number of unwanted pregnancys. There are ways of doing this, but there are many who want to hinder birth control too.
As for Ken's comments...yes, some of his more inflaming.

::sigh::
The "newcomer" came in with both guns blazing, Twinsoft. He got softer treatment than I did when I first came to AW.
God did grant us free will. He likely regrets it everyday, but He did it. Save your righteous outrage for the people who beat their toddlers to death with whatever is handy. That's murder too.
Oh, and BTW - I'm not really a regular here anymore.

I am outta here. You can post your comments in the thread I started in MC, but I will not answer them there either. You are welcome to your opinion.

twin - many people think war is murder. How many pregnant woman die in wars? Not to mention children. But the Bush gang can't wait to start one. That should help cut down the world population. Isn't it nice that Bush is so concerned about American woman and their choices, that he calls them murders?
