I would like to apologize. I may not care for Bush but I will try my best to support the President of the United States of America.

I am not saying I won't gripe, disagree or hold my nose but I will try my very best.

I'll support the President-not elected. I will also do just the same as I do now. Make fun of him every time he's on the TV and flip him the bird. All in the privacy of my own home ,of course.

Oh joy! An opportunity comes in only a few minutes! Better get my finger ready!

OK, I just don't find it funny at all.

My girls are quarter Cherokee. The word squaw is wrong and you can see that the poster knows it to be wrong, but said it anyway.

I wish not to feed the need for this expected response but find I cannot stop myself.

So you really meant to say "curious as an old woman, eh, marwin. Or did you mean to characterize a particular race of old women. Nice going, such clarity leaves little room for doubt concerning your meanings and attitude. Either way, you lose.

Hi Ken.

I believe this discussion has already taken place at AW, maybe 5 or 6 months ago. I don't recall the results of the discussion but there were some strong feelings expressed about that word, including some info taken from an AIM website.

You might want to do a search marwin.

Remind you of? Gee, I don't know, Marwin. Maybe it reminds you of the good old days when a politician, who, presumably is in the business of geting votes, could say what James refers to above? Wasn't there an European politician who was also given to say such things about 'voting groups', though not in those words, back in those same good old days?

Even giving you the full benefit of doubt I really can not believe, having seen your postings over quite some time, that you did not know how offensive your "So what?" post would be to many of the members here.

Rawbunzel,

I agree totally about supporting the unelected President. I also said I would *try*. It may also be an entertaining 4 years. We may also find some that swore to get rid of Clinton actually remembering they should have remembered the old saying, "be careful of what you wish."

Hi sammysue, enchanted, kitch and all I missed.

I also did not watch his speech. Not tonight.

krs: Not familiar with the European politician. At least does not ring a bell right now.

I thought "squaw" was still being debated as to whether it should be classified as a dirty word or not. I read arguments to both effects. Perfectly legitimate, an Indian word, and demeaning. In my mind it's no more demeaning than Senora...

Gone for today...

Marvin---I also have a webster's dictionary and you give the first part of the definition---but not the second part

woman/wife--usually used disparagingly.

It is a word that has become an insult irregardless of it's roots.

Okay help me out here.

How did I managed to get insulted and a user moderated for the insult but until this post. I wasn't a part of this discussion.

Then I got insulted again and still wasn't a part of this discussion. What gives with some of you guys.

kitsch - Its way back on page 2, and what's so funny nothing like that would irk me in the least.
