Oh - So you went out of your way to be a rude son of a b*tch, to torment a clerk who has no conrol over company policy and to inconvience complete strangers whose only mistake was being in the store when you decided to act like a self centered *ss for no other reason than you wanted to be the center of attention for a few minutes. And you have taken this on as a badge of honor?
I can't help but notice how proud you are that you decided to be display rude, obnoixius and attention getting behavior in person but feel the need to report posters that you feel are doing the same thing online.

But it is protests such as Ron's that have changed the tune of stores significantly during this holiday season - those major chain stores that were refusing to use or acknowledge the 'C' word are now scrambling to use it since protests such as these, along with publicity from people like Bill O'Reilly and John Gibson have brought to light how over the top political correctness has gone.

Ron- I prefer saying Happy Holidays. I find it more inclusive towards everyone who celebrates any of the Holidays during this time of year. If a customer, or anyone else says, "Merry Christmas" I reply the same. I take no offense to someone saying something like that, as I find it to be a nice jesture. On a side note, we sell vintage aluminum trees that we refer to as... get this.... Vintage Christmas Trees.
I view Christmas as a 3 headed monster. The first and most in your face is the corporate holiday garb. To me, overspending on holiday gifts, battling it out in department stores, and keeping up with the Jones' is stupid. I despise that part of the holidays. The second is the time spent with family and friends, enjoying each others company, and exchanging meaningful gifts is the most meaningful for me. The last is the religious side of Christmas. I no longer (if I ever did in the first place) believe in religion. I respect those who do, and have no problems with those who celebrate Christmas through their religion. It crosses my line when it becomes the hate filled, boycott businesses b/c they choose to use "Holidays" rather than "Christmas" gang of Neochristians.
Where did the word "holiday" come from??? Holy Days. I celebrate the Winter Solstice moreso than Christmas. I find nothing insulting, or disrepectful towards Christmas or the Christian religion by using Happy Holidays. This is exactly why I believe using Happy Holidays is more inclusive towards more people. This notion that there is a war on Christmas is asinine. What there is a war on is the idea that fascist, neoconservative, right-winged Christian nuts cannot comprehend the idea of Seperation of Church and State. These people have absolutely no respect for anyone else besides themselves.

I'm sure it makes Linda feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know the GOP prefers Happy Holidays (www.gop.com). So much for her argument.

Where did Washingtonebayer go? I wonder if he felt bad after fenix talked to him so he went back to apologize to that clerk for his tantrum .....or maybe he went out to harrass more all in the spirit of Christmas.

Caroline, go back and read fenix's last post.....it summed it all pretty well and now applies to you, church lady
posted on December 24, 2005 12:41:13 PM newIt's about being told THEY CAN'T say MERRY CHRISTMAS....or they can't mention it because it might offend someone.
This does not apply to individuals. You can say whatever Christmas greeting you want to anyone else. However why should a particular company or government agency be forced to say Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukah. In doing so they are trying to force their religious beliefs onto others.
This especially applies to the government. By saying Merry Christmas, it is picking the Christian religion over that of the other religions. This is forbidden in the Constitution.
Before you get upset with the 22 Congressmen who said NO, you should be more upset with your pal, BUSH.
What was on the White House "Christmas" Card - HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
SO I GUESS YOU NEED TO ADD BUSH TO THOSE ON YOUR LIST.

Nobody is preventing you from practicing your religion. You are trying to force your religious beliefs onto others and public companies. DAMN THAT CHRISTIAN AGENDA.

Gee kiara, I had though better of you, you don't even know the definition of tantrum.
Or is that what you also identify with all the anti-war protesters-tantrums? Very interesting.
I feel good about it Fenix, How do you define rude and obnoxious you weren't there so keep your assumptions to yourself.
I made a statement, she said she couldn't comply, so without further words I left. 3 others behind decided they agreed and left also. Simple and sweet.
Union? No wonder you support the left, you don't have a clue.

Ron, what you did was a tantrum....my posts still stand...especially the part about spreading "christian" spirit
Well, plus I don't belive a word of it anyway...oh,I believe you would DO something like that but don't believe you did.

Ron - I define rude as making a premeditated decision to put an unsuspecting clerk into a no-win situation.
Obnoxious is spending time in the store picking out a cart full of items that you knew you were going to leave behind for an already overworked person to deal with for no reason other than to feed your ego.
Rude and obnoxious is getting into a line, taking up the time and attention of the clerk then leaving your cart in the lane to cause further inconvenience, and in so doing wasting the time of other customers.
