PEW:

Poll: Huge Racial Divide Over Katrina and its Consequences; Two-In-Three Critical of Bush's Relief Efforts
September 8, 2005

Polls/Survey Results

The American public is highly critical of President Bush’s handling of Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, according to the latest national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press. Two-in-three Americans (67 percent) believe he could have done more to speed up relief efforts, while just 28 percent think he did all he could to get them going quickly. At the same time, Bush’s overall job approval rating has slipped to 40 percent and his disapproval rating has climbed to 52 percent, among the highest for his presidency.

Uncharacteristically, the president’s ratings have slipped most among his core constituents – Republicans and conservatives.

I am telling you now, he won't get voted for in the next Presidential election. I predict this.

The man has admitted fault, that will change some people's attitude toward him. What will be telling is if congress will give him all the money he wants to rebuild. He doesn't want the evacuees staying in Texas LOL

A cat came fiddling out of a barn,
With a pair of bagpipes under her arm.
She could sing nothing but fiddle dee dee,
The mouse has married the bumblebee!
Pipe, cat; dance, mouse;
We'll have a wedding at our good house.

Ron, the poll I posted was after his (staged speech) in New Orleans. Sorry for you that the CON-servative movement is in such trouble. The CON-servative movement had their chance to run our government and failed.

ITS TIME TO CANCEL TAX BREAKS BUSH AND THE REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED CONGRESS GAVE TO THE RICH.

ITS TIME TO CANCEL WELFARE TO CORPORATIONS BUSH AND THE REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED CONGRESS HANDS OUT.

What exactly is a "staged" speech? Or are you under the impression that Presidents just sort of speak off the cuff?

Sorry for you that the CON-servative movement is in such trouble

I understand your need to believe this so by all means, keep repeating it. But you may want to brace yourself for a big letdown before the next elections.

ITS TIME TO CANCEL TAX BREAKS BUSH AND THE REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED CONGRESS GAVE TO THE RICH

Who are the "rich" you keep referring to? I'm curious how you define rich.

ITS TIME TO CANCEL WELFARE TO CORPORATIONS BUSH AND THE REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED CONGRESS HANDS OUT

Okay, how about cancelling welfare to the people as well? And exactly what "welfare" are you proposing to cancel? Can you discuss the specific benefits you'd like to see removed from corporate america - or are you just a guy who spouts a lot of <ahem> bull roar about issues with no ability to get specific?

"ITS TIME TO CANCEL TAX BREAKS"

I agree! We have a war in Iraq and a disaster in the gulf. We need to cover these things. That's why I work and pay taxes.

"ITS TIME TO CANCEL WELFARE"

I agree. We need to let the non working, life sucking, lazy, fat azzed, welfare people to get jobs and help pay these taxes.

"AMERICA NEEDS MONEY NOT JUST A BIGGER NATIONAL DEBT."

So peepa!!! GET A JOB!!!

Colin, please quit trying the CON-servative style of miss quoting, your not very good at it. I said ITS TIME TO CANCEL WELFARE TO CORPORATIONS BUSH AND THE REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED CONGRESS HANDS OUT. That was the kind of welfare I was talking about.

I don't want billions more added to our already out of control Nation Debt this CON-servative White House and Congress has given all of us. I don't like being indebted to a Communist country like China.
Thirty five years ago America lost 50,000 young Americans in Viet Nam fighting what our government called "The spread of Communism." What a waste of lives and money Viet Nam was.

About me getting a Job? Please Colin, I have always worked never out of a job. I have also run my own business for a lot of years. So again your style of your CON-servative bull roar doesn't apply either.

I have never been on any welfare but also I never begrudged my tax dollars going to welfare for people that need it. If that view is one difference between me being a liberal and you being a CON-servative. I am very glad and very proud being a liberal.

Welfare was intended to help people get back on their feet. Not as a generation to genteration support system.

I begrudge those that have used it as such.

Without those corporations you hate so much, (the capitalist socity) here would be far fewer jobs out there.

No I didn't miss quote you. I used a Helenism.

So...you aren't on welfare. Do you get food stamps? HEAP? moneies to learn a new trade like basket weaving?

Amen,

Red, I tried to have a discussion with you remember? The problem is sick people like linda_K won't allow discussions.

I think you know very well what I called a staged speech or better yet A STAGED EVENT about the Bush speech last night.

I believe American needs money and I don't believe Bush and the CON-servative Congress should KEEP GIVING the rich tax cuts or money to oil companies when oil companies post RECORD PROFITS!!!! Bush and Congress should go where the money is not lay the cost of his failures on the National Debt.

About Welfare to the poor people the CON-servatives have already cut most unnecessary welfare don't you remember.

Now when the Nation and Bush got slapped in the face with the faces of the poor in this country he starts talking about the poor. That is nothing but a sham and a joke.

Now Bush and CON-servative law makers start saying people in the U.S. need to make sacrifices like cutting the prescription drug plan for the Senior Citizens. While Bush and Congress are still giving money away to the rich through canceling the inheritance tax. Bush and his conservative law makers are nothing but a sham and joke.

Red this will most likely be all I will be able to respond to you because some AZZ hole will probably come along and tell me to get a job or some stupid AZZ thing like that.

I do wonder why some people can't see that the welfare system of this country has hurt more than it has helped.

I believe I once read where Minnesota or Wisconsin or Michigan reformed there welfare system and it is working the way it is supposed to.

Will have to go check that out.

Colin,
I have no idea who will be President in 2008. I am taking one step at a time and putting my efforts on defeating CON-servative house members in 2006.

If you post my screen name on your web site just make sure you post PROUD LIBERAL next to it.

Peepa, have you noticed that nobody here who might otherwise agree with you has come to your defense? I don't get it. Why, oh why, do you persist in posting these AOL polls that nobody believes and that everybody knows are unscientific and therefore invalid? Maybe it's because, as an AO-Hell user the handy interface won't actually let you go anywhere else on the internet, or do any of your own research. There are GOBS of scientifically based polls that will provide you with similar results. Every night on the news we hear about another one, and interestingly enough, NONE of the polls the news mentions are AOL subscriber polls. Why do you suppose that is? Because they're bogus, that's why. As has been pointed out ad nauseum here, you can hit the button as many times as you want. Vote early, vote often!

You're not going to convince anybody with this specious information, and you're doing your own cause a great disservice.

Not that I have an opinion one way or another....no, really.

profe51, you do what you have to do and so will I. Bush's rating sure do bother NEOCONS.

You say Straw polls are unscientific but I believe they show that one hell of a lot of people NO LONGER TRUST BUSH. All polls scientific or not show Bush falling on his face.

You have to understand I have made my own decisions and my own way for a whole lot of years. If I am right fine, if I am wrong its my own doings. On this board I never asked anyone to support me people have their own minds. All I really care about on this board is exposing NEOCON LIARS.

Bush and the republican controlled houses should repeal the tax breaks they gave the riches 1% of American. I don't think Bush and Congress should add the cost of Bush's mistakes to our National Debt. I don't believe several generations of working and middle class Americans should pay for Bush's mistakes in New Orleans and Iraq. If Bush and Congress lay the cost of their mistakes on the masses while the rich get to keep all the tax breaks they were given. Then Bush and the republican Congress are not leaders of the American people they are only leaders of the rich.
